Palm-tree forest of Vai
The Unique palm-tree forest in Europe with the beautiful beach and the spotless sea in the northern edge of the province above the cape Sidero, constitutes a unique beauty corner of the Cretan island. Kato Zakros
The visitor will reach the beach of Zakros after an one hour roughly drive from the Sitia. Time at the beach should be combined with visiting the Palace of Zakros, the unique minoan building that has been found in eastern Crete. The palace was built around 1700s and had a relatively very short life. It was completely destroyed by the volcano of Santorini';s explosion and was never re-habituated.
