Overview

It is a traditional village in the south side of Paros with rich vegetation, running waters and beautiful beaches. It is 20 km away from Paroikia and 10km away from the local airport. Drios (the Porto Trio of the medieval era) played an important part to the history of Paros, especially during the Turkish domination. Despite its tourist development it still keeps a sweet tranquillity and it is suitable for pleasant promenants. Great interest presents the ancient neosiki (grooves in the rocks of the beach) that were useful for the refloating and guard of the ships. West of Drios, in Pirgaki, it was discovered an early-Cycladic cemetery of the 2nd millennium B.C.
