Overview

Milatos is a village of the province of Merampelou. North of  the village, in distance of 1,5 km is located the residence of paralia Milatou. Milatos still rescues the  Dorian type of the ancient city, that existed in the region of the current village. In small distance north-easternly of the village, exists the historical Cave of Milatos. Each year, on the Sunday of Thomas, the residents of Lassithi walk uphill  3klm outside from the village of  Milatos, on the side of an  abrupt ravine, to  this cave, one of the  most beautiful of Crete, in order to honour the innocent victims of a terrible slaughter that took place there.
