Platanes is located in Rethymnon prefecture in the northern coast of Crete, situated 4km from Rethymnon city at the East. Platanes is close to the sea with a beautiful sandy beach and several Greek taverns which offer local specialties and local produced drinks, and is considered as an ideal destination for everyone looking for a relaxing holiday. Access from Rethymnon is easy by public bus, with regular and frequent service, taxi and rented or private car and motorbike. Heraklion is approximately 80km away and Chania 60km away.
