Spili is a graphic village that is located 30 Klm. south of Rethimnon at the feet of a small mountain, extension of the known mountain of Cedar. The root from Rethimnon to Spili  includes places of unique beauty. Southernly after 20 minutes roughly we reach Spili, full of plants, with waters and a lot of old churches with murals (Saint Theodoros, Saint Gewrgjos, the church of Savior but also the church of Virgin Mary). It is worth walking in uphill in the upper neighborhood, there where the mansion stone houses of the village are still maintained and lived in. In one of these mansions Thanasis Skordalo's, was born one of the best players of the Cretan instrument "; lyra"; and teachers Cretan music.
