Overview

Skala is the island';s port. It is almost in the middle of the island, 3km northeast of Chora. Characteristic of this port is that it is located in a narrow cove that has the shape of a neck and makes you think that the island is torn apart.
The settlement is built in the place of the ancient capital, remains of which you will see in Kasteli. There you can see parts of the acropolis walls and of Apollo';s ancient temple.

Worth visiting is the church of Saint Paraskevi on the way to Griko. The church was built during the 17th century on the bases of an ancient temple.

Skala is the most developed in tourism region in the island. Here you can find hotels of all categories and complexes of rooms to let. Along the port you will meet coffeehouses, taverns and luxurious restaurants. Bars and clubs with live music entertain visitors until next morning and prove that Patmos is an island that combines everything.
