Overview

Monemvasia, the venetian and byzantine gem of the east Peloponnesian coast, 26 klm away from Molaus. The castle town with the forty churches and the arches overlooking hundreds of intersecting cobbled streets is brimming with tourists. It nestles in a dark massive rock island that is linked to the opposite shore with an asphalt road. Behind the castle walls with the heavy entrance gate, visitors will discover a lively city full of coffee houses, bars, restaurants and pensions, offering them the opportunity to explore its medieval everyday life through a contemporary perspective. On the opposite shore there is an ever expanding ultra-modern tourist complex, capable of accommodating big tourist crowds.
