Overview
The prefecture of Lakonia lies between the Myrtoon sea and the Messiniakos bay, offering a landscape of pure natural beauty. Two great, thickly-forested mountains, Taigetos and Parnonas, dominate the horizon and form the two peninsulas that the province consists of. The numerous small villages located at the feet of the mountains, along with the river Evrotas, snaking through the valley, formed by the two great mountains, complete the image giving the landscape a more peaceful and tame nature.
